Company Background

Activfreight was formed in 2003 when Managing Director Paul Shaw saw a need for a more personalised  service in the freight forwarding industry. Beginning his career as a Licensed Customs Broker and later moving into international freight forwarding, Paul has held high level management roles in Australian based international freight forwarding and logistics companies since 1969. In 2003 when his family interests lead him to opening a retail store importing furniture and giftware’s he realised there was a real lack of customer service focused freight forwarders working within the retail market.

Unable to find a freight forwarder that really understood his needs, Paul began managing his own freight forwarding from the back room of his retail store, essentially with the view of servicing his own stock needs which were in excess of 30 containers a year. Quickly word spread and his suppliers and colleagues began using him to ship their cargo. Activfreight was born!

With a company vision of creating an efficient and cost effective service that has a single staff member appointed to oversee each client’s work, Activfreight has continued to grow and attract a large range of clients importing from all corners of the globe.

At Activfreight our personalised approach to business is one of our strengths. As a team we take pride in our attention to detail and are happy to take the time with a first time importer holding their hand and helping them through the process, without the jargon. Likewise, we understand the needs of seasoned importers and we boast efficient processes that allow us to keep our clients up to date with the progress of their shipment, without bombarding them with useless information.

A Team Working with your Best Interests in Mind

Through our unique client management system you’ll have an Account Manager watching your shipment every step of the way. However it’s important to us that you have a relationship with the team at Activfreight and not just one person. Because of this we make sure our Sales Support Team are kept up to date with your consignment also, so if you do need to call, there is at least two people at any one time that can assist you with your enquiry.
