Activfreight was formed in 2003 when Managing Director Paul Shaw saw a need for a more personalised service in the freight forwarding industry. Beginning his career as a Licensed Customs Broker and later moving into international freight forwarding, Paul has held high level management roles in Australian based international freight forwarding and logistics companies since 1969. In 2003, when his family interests lead him to opening a retail store importing furniture and giftware, he realised there was a real lack of customer service focused freight forwarders working within the market.
Unable to find a freight forwarder that really understood his needs, Paul began managing his own freight forwarding from the back room of his retail store. Quickly word spread and his suppliers and colleagues began using him to ship their cargo – Activfreight was born!
